Uto Gruvbyn 01

The cabins on the slope by Gruvviken bay were originally built as living quarters for the miners after the Russian pillage in 1719, when all buildings on Utö were burned down. After the mining era at the end of the 19th century, Utö transformed into a seaside resort and the homes were rented out to summer tourists. Many celebrities and artists have vacationed here.
