Stockholm Archipelago Trail - section Landsort

The section can be started from the North, East, or West harbours – depending on where the Waxholms ferry docks, which is determined by weather conditions. Section Landsort is the southernmost part of the Stockholm Archipelago Trail and is located on the island of Öja – the southernmost outpost of the Stockholm archipelago. This section combines natural beauty, cultural history, and island life in a way that is unique to Sweden’s east coast. The dramatic landscape, the charming village, and the island’s rich history make Landsort a particularly memorable end to the trail.

The island of Öja is narrow and elongated, which means you’re always close to the sea no matter where you are. The 13.6 km hike takes you through dense forest on narrow paths, across wide rocky outcrops, and through rugged terrain rich in natural value. Along the way, you’ll pass cultural landmarks, encounter grazing animals, and experience a vibrant island community with a well-regarded restaurant.
