Stockholm Archipelago Trail - section Lidö
The Lidö section is something truly special. Here, farmland, untouched nature, and a charming inn with cabin accommodations coexist – all framed by the peaceful atmosphere of the archipelago. The trail starts at the steamboat jetty and the inn, and consists of two seaside loops and one out-and-back path.
The hike leads you through open meadows where cattle graze, and into a forest shaped by both the spruce bark beetle and the storm Alfrida. Nature’s power is palpable here, reminding us of the importance of living in harmony with it. The trail winds through a forest that feels almost like a labyrinth. Along the way, you’ll pass a well-preserved Russian oven, dramatic bathing cliffs, and a World War II battery once built to help protect Stockholm.
