Djurö and Stavsnäs are two communities on the east side of Värmdö, connected by a bridge. Stavsnäs winter harbour is a junction for boat traffic to many of the islands in the archipelago further out.

A little bit south of the winter harbour, at Hölö, you will find Evert Taube’s summer place Sjösala. At Stavsnäs summer harbour there is an archipelago museum, a bakery, places to swim and a restaurant.

In Djurö village there are restaurants, cafés, cultural buildings, lovely walking paths and places to swim. The church is well worth a visit – it was built in 1683 and is thereby the oldest wooden church in the archipelago.
