Bullerö

Röda hus på Bullerö klippor.

Far out in the outer archipelago beyond Nämdö lies the Bullerö archipelago, with its many islands and skerries. Here you encounter a rugged yet beautiful landscape where both nature and cultural heritage have been carefully preserved.

On the main island, Bullerö, there are hiking trails, a shelter, camping areas, and opportunities to stay overnight in cabins. The island is one of the main entry points to Nämdöskärgården National Park and offers a great introduction to the area’s nature, birdlife, and landscapes—both above and below the surface.

You can walk across meadows, swim from smooth cliffs, and experience the rich and varied archipelago environment. The artist Bruno Liljefors owned the island in the early 1900s, and his hunting lodge still remains. Today, it houses an exhibition about the national park, the Baltic Sea environment, and life in the archipelago.

About the area

Bullerö is part of Nämdöskärgården National Park, Sweden’s first marine national park in the Baltic Sea. The park covers a vast marine area with thousands of islands, islets, and skerries, and was established to protect a unique and diverse archipelago landscape. Read more here.
